I’m Scott Alexander. Founder, designer, programmer, builder, janitor, and marketing guy. As a Texas native I have been playing bass for over 45 years which, coincidentally, is exactly how long I have been programming and running CNC machines building high precision aircraft components. I’m a data scientist by day but an engineer and properly trained musician at my core.
The idea for the Zander Zaddy bass started around 20 years ago and I became serious about it around 2014 when I began the design of many, many prototypes and 1000’s of hours invested trying to perfect the marriage of what I consider to be 2 of the most influential bass guitars of my time – think early 80’s here. The entire Zander line is an amalgamation of various aspects of these classics with updated designs and technologies for a modern world – yet retaining the classic sound as well as a much wider tone pallet.
Each instrument is handcrafted by me in my shop using proprietary methods. Of course, there are certain components such as electronics and wooden necks that have been perfected by many others so I rely on a carefully selected set of partners to provide some of these critical components.
