The Zaddy Bass is next-level stuff. Really no other way to put it. Over 5 years of R&D to perfect this instrument. The hollow-body is constructed in 3 pieces with the middle being a proprietary blend of graphite and various binding agents. The top and back are 5mm plates of autoclave prepared carbon fiber. The headless neck is constructed with multiple layers of Kevlar reinforced carbon fiber stabilized with hollow carbon fiber tubes and a steel truss rod. This semi-hollow neck is light and stiff. Topped off with various available wooden fingerboards. Our experience has found a wooden fingerboard is vastly superior in both sound and feel than other synthetic materials. Shown is a prototype carbon fiber tailpiece and string nut. Production models will come with a Hipshot tailpiece and a similar carbon fiber headpiece (shown).
- Pickups – We only use Turner pickups. Configurations include:
- Multicoil SEP with Standard or English voicings (“that” classic sound) (shown in pics)
- Gordo – for a MM sound
- Soapbar Multicoil
- Electronics – We only use Lusithand Preamps
- Double NFP MKII Special for use with Multicoil Pickups
- 800 BMF for use with Gordo and Soapbar pickups
- Body
- Only comes in headless and natural carbon fiber finish. With the exception of the fingerboard there is no wood anywhere on this bass. We are researching various colors of carbon fiber, however. Stay tuned….
- Standard configurations available – Right/Left, 4/5 string, Fretted/Fretless
- Neck
- Propritary carbon fiber and Kevlar neck
- 14 degree radius Thin-C shape is standard. No others available at this time
- Jumbo frets with 38mm nut standard (4 string). Others available
- Fretboard either maple or Indian Rosewood standard. Others available for additional costs
- 34″ 24 Frets is standard.
- Luminous Fret markers and side markers. No other options exists
- GraphTech Nut
- Hardware (Chrome, Black, or Gold)
- Hipshot Headless Bridge
- Carbon Fiber head string retainer
4 String Prices Start around $3699 USD. 5 String Starts around $4199 USD. Lead times are typically around 6 weeks, however, final lead time and price will depend on the options you choose. A $1000 non-refundable deposit is required upon ordering. We are working on a pricing configurator for the website but we’re too busy building basses at the moment (much more fun than messing with websites :-)).
