The Zen Bass

The Zen Bass is a much lighter weight version similar to a classic design thanks to the partial hollow-body 2-piece construction. The standard body is mahogany with a traditional flamed maple top. All woods can be customized and tinted to create the perfect one-off instrument. Options include:

  • PickupsWe only use Turner pickups. Configurations include:
    • Multicoil SEP with Standard or English voicings (“that” classic sound) (shown in pics)
    • Gordo – for a MM sound
    • Soapbar Multicoil
  • ElectronicsWe only use Lusithand Preamps
    • Double NFP MKII Special for use with Multicoil Pickups
    • 800 BMF for use with Gordo and Soapbar pickups
  • Body
    • Standard mahogany with flamed maple top. Various tints available. We do not paint our guitars. Clear coat for protection only. Custom wood choices available for additional costs.
    • Standard configurations available – Right/Left, 4/5 string, Fretted/Fretless
  • Neck
    • Standard Maple with tilt-back head. Other woods available for additional costs
    • 14 degree Thin-C shape is standard. Others available.
    • Jumbo frets with 38mm nut standard (4 string). Others available
    • Fretboard either maple or Indian Rosewood standard. Others available for additional costs
    • 34″ 24 Frets is standard.
    • Various options for fret markers and side dots. Standard is white or black dots
    • GraphTech Nut
    • Clear lacquer finish
  • Hardware (Chrome, Black, or Gold)
    • Gotoh Tuners
    • Hipshot Type A Bridge

4 String Prices Start around $3199 USD. 5 String Starts around $3599 USD. Lead times are typically around 6 weeks, however, final lead time and price will depend on the options you choose. A $1000 non-refundable deposit is required upon ordering. We are working on a pricing configurator for the website but we’re too busy building basses at the moment (much more fun than messing with websites :-)).
